Funding Opportunities for Marine Projects
Horizon 2020 (EU)

Horizon 2020 is the biggest EU Research and Innovation programme ever with
nearly €80 billion of funding available over 7 years (2014 to 2020) –
in addition to the private investment that this money will attract.
It promises more breakthroughs, discoveries and world-firsts by taking great ideas
from the lab to the market.
Research & Innovation action | Innovation Action- At least three legal entities. Each of the three shall be established in
a different Member State or associated country. All three legal
entities shall be independent of each other.
Coordination & support action- At least one legal entity established in a Member State or associated
country.
SME instrument- At least one SME. Only applications from for-profit SMEs
established in EU Member States or countries associated to Horizon
2020.

The LIFE +(2014-2020) programme is the EU’s funding instrument for the environment.
The general objective of LIFE is to contribute to the implementation,
updating and development of EU environmental policy and legislation
by co-financing pilot or demonstration projects with European added value.
